Abigail's First Swim

We took Abigail on her first extended trip to the pool yesterday.  We did try to get her into the pool while in Michigan when she was three weeks old--but it was an outdoor pool and a bit too cool for her.  We ended up putting her in the hot tub for a minute to warm up and she really enjoyed that, so we decided to find an indoor pool for her.

We just spent a few days in Massanutten with Amy's family, and one of the pools at the resort is indoor.  While the rest of the family was going up the chair lifts for a few of the area we headed to the pool (Abigail was too small to ride the lifts anyway).

The audio quality isn't great, but you can see her moving around a bit in this video.

She didn't always look totally happy, but she wasn't actively unhappy with the pool.

She liked exploring this new environment.

There were even a few smiles--but we didn't get to capture them with the camera.  We were using the waterproof camera that I bought for our honeymoon cruise--it has been quite wonderful to have in several different situations.

Amy even held Abigail for a while.  At first we put her in the very shallow kiddie pool.

It was easy to sit down with her in the pool with less than two feet of water.

She also enjoyed being out in the regular pool.  I can't wait until she is old enough to start actually swimming.

We'll definitely be making many more trips to the pool!
