King Arthur Flour

We were planning to stay in the area around White River Junction, Vermont as we had several places we wanted to see.  One just made sense to stop at on our way into the area.  So late in the afternoon of the day we had regrettably left Acadia National Park we pulled into the parking lot of King Arthur Flour.

Now if you know my family well you'll know that we like to cook and to bake.  Several of my family members had visited King Arthur Flour when they were in the area and all of them told me to stop by King Arthur Flour.

King Arthur Flour has a long and storied history, stretching back nearly to the American Revolution. We've been providing bakers with superior flour since 1790: from Martha Washington's apple pie through the invention of the chocolate chip cookie, from flour in wooden barrels to bags at the supermarket, we've been there. Simply put, King Arthur Flour and American baking have been close companions since the very beginning.

We pulled up to the building late in the afternoon, but thankfully they stay open until six in the evening.
Walking along towards the entrance we could see quite a bit of outdoor seating setup.
I always enjoy seeing historical signs so I took some time to look over the history of the company.
Of course there was a statue of a knight inside!
The store is quite extensive and has many different products.
There are even a number of books that you can purchase.
While we didn't get any glasses, I did end up buying a hat.
I'd been wearing my hat purchased on my trip to Texas the whole trip and I had quite a few people ask me if I was from Texas.  I'd gotten quite tired of answering their questions, so I decided that a new hat was in order.  Amy ended up talking me into getting one of King Arthur Flour's bake hats and it has proven to be an excellent choice as I still wear it months later with no regrets.
I ended up getting one of these jams that later proved to be quite delicious.
I was very impressed with the building's restrooms as they were very clean and well kept.
Amy and I ended up buying a couple treats in the bakery before we left.  I got a fruit tart that proved to be quite delicious.
Amy also really enjoyed her whoopie pie.

You can see all the photos from our brief visit in this album.  If you enjoy baking and end up in Vermont then maybe you should also stop by King Arthur Flour for a visit.  No, they of course didn't pay me to say that, I just had a fun time there.
