Tower Fall

After exploring the Lake district and Mud Volcano we decided to head north.  The plan was to also go north the next day on our way out of the park so as to see as much as possible (though we never did drive the Norris-Mammoth road), but we figured we might see some in the evening of the eleventh that we might not see the next morning.  Therefore we headed up for Tower Fall, which I suspect is one of the tallest waterfalls in Yellowstone National Park.

Unfortunately the general store was closed by the time we made it to the area, and when we drove by the next morning it wasn't open.  I doubt that there were too many unique souvenirs, but I missed the chance to look.  At least I did end up getting a Tower Fall smashed penny from elsewhere.  The rocks in the area nearby did look impressive.
I really liked the grasses though.
This is the valley floor downstream of the waterfall.
As this sign warns the path was open down to the overlook, and a bit beyond, but you couldn't actually get to the base of the falls.  Because of this we actually didn't go beyond the overlook.

The fence along the path was a simple wood one, but I came to enjoy all of the wood construction found throughout the park.

Again I really liked the grass.
 Especially individual bundles.
Here you can see the steepness of the trail down beyond the overlook, and yet another warning.

The water itself was quite amazing and a beautiful sight.
The rock formations are quite interesting at the top of the falls.
And the water gets quite rough before pouring over the edge.

You can even see video of the entire visible portion of the falls here:
