Iranians are being discouraged or even not allowed to use Gmail and other Google services. I think it is obvious that Iran is a totalitarian state, but this is just one more piece of evidence. Only a government eager to perpetuate its own lies or deny access to the truth tries to censor the Internet.
Ultimately I suspect (and hope) that the Irsnian government will fail. This isn't a Google issue, nor am I saying the US should do anything concrete. But once you have Internet access the information necessary to destroy totalitarian regimes is out there
