The Passing of the Grey Company

Tonight we read The Passing of the Grey Company and went through the Paths of the Dead. The kids definitely thought the paths were creepy.

We talked about exactly who the dead were that had been cursed by Isildur and the six year old asked “what about the skeleton?”

I explained that he wasn’t one of the cursed Dead, but had been one of the kings of Rohan (Baldor, grandson of Eorl the Young).

And once again, I love the book descriptions of the Paths and the Dead themselves so much more than the movies…
