Of the Flight of the Noldor

Today we read Of the Flight of the Noldor, a dark chapter wherein we learn of the theft of the Silmarils, the murder of Finwë, Fëanor’s dreadful oath, the Kinslaying, and the burning of the beautiful swan ships ships of the Teleri.

The kids weren’t too talkative today (the four year old who hadn’t napped when when sent to bed earlier fell asleep while sitting next to me), but the six year old was aghast that Fëanor burned the ships since he had stolen them. Today’s artwork is of the ships burning as drawn by the eight year old.
